If you're not already familiar with Practical Shooting, it's probably miles away from what you think it is. I'm going to flesh this page out here in the near future and try to paint an accurate portrait of modern, practical shooting.

For now, please ignore the armchair commandos and the acidic rhetoric you may have read or heard about IPSC/USPSA. Everyone is welcome in USPSA. Practical Shooters are an incredibly diverse group that includes teachers, engineers, doctors, lawyers, soccer moms, college students, law enforcement officers, and more.

Don't worry if you don't have all the equipment yet. Almost invariably someone will be able to loan you gear to get you through your first match or two - until you decide what you want to do.
